Two ‘deaths’ in one day
Yesterday we had our impromptu date afternoon – I can’t express enough how much better an afternoon date is then an evening date. Anyway, we jaunted around the cities and then decided it was high time we saw a movie since I think the last one was in July maybe. Since we didn’t actually plan any of this so we were faced with the options available at the time we were there and so we saw Lincoln.
I know, we are only months behind seeing it but hey, better then years. I know that the end of Lincoln must be with Fords theater but everything that lead up to it was incredibly well done. I don’t know enough about the Civil War to have any of the details grate on me but I could completely get behind the lawyer side of Lincoln. I also like that they didn’t make him a saint, he had a gray side as well. Toward the end I knew that he would die soon and I was almost hopeful they wound’t. I wonder what Lincoln could have done if he had that second term in office. Anyway, that was death #1 of the day that we knew would happen but were still sad to see.
After getting the kids rounded up and into bed and eating a light supper since brunch was so awesome we popped in the final disk of A Game of Thrones season 1. I won’t spell it out but someone important dies… We read the book and the HBO series has been out for 2 years so again, not a real surprise, but still it is very unfair to kill this person off. The person does need to die for the series to have conflict and drama but I still didn’t want to have it happen. Death #2 of the night.
I almost didn’t want to read my book just in case they killed off someone…
Today was an easy day where not much happened but we all went swimming. I’ve been working on various little unfinished projects that don’t amount to too much but it is a nice check mark to make. I have actually hit a milestone in writing, the textbroker site turned up a regular job for me – I hope it pans out – but I’m looking a getting a little contract to write for a blog for actual money. Not a lot of money and zero credit but hey, it is cool that someone will pay me to write. I figure once I earn $500 (the taxable low limit) then I’ll be able to say I am a writer. I’ve read a lot of things (books, articles, blogs) about how to become a writer and it boils down to write a lot and write some more and then keep writing. I suppose I have been doing that here for YEARS and when I start counting up subscribers and hits almost 300 people read this daily. I think that might make me a writer too.
Tonight is pretty jumbled, I’m writing while watching Boardwalk Empire, a show about the prohibition days and rumrunners etc and I expect they will be killing off plenty of people so it ties into my original topic but it is also distracting wo I’ll just wrap this up. See you tomorrow

You’re a write ! congrats.

I’m all for typos, they keep you on your toes and sometimes make just as much sense either way
